Planning Out The Garden For Spring

Today, the CHS Horticulture students headed straight out to the garden. Mrs. Paul assigned each student a knowledge test on the frost free date, and asked each student to plan a layout of the garden including where each plant should be.
As soon as they were finished each student got to work by planting lettuce, turning over the soil, and laying out the final blueprint of the plot with 2x4's. It was a perfect day to do so, 65 degrees with clear skies and a slight breeze. What a beautiful day!
Also, with the National Day of Silence in full motion, the entire class was very peaceful and focused. Every child and teacher were at work. Many students were also putting more natives in the coldframes, to protect them from a few cold chilly nights we have coming up ahead. What a lovely day.
