Out of This World
A parent of a former student was kind enough to lend us cuttings from one of the African Violets (Saintpaulia ionantha), which was started from a seed on the International Space Station and germinated there to see what the effect would be. After three years of care by the motivated and kind Mrs. Caretto, the cuttings she took were finally large enough to pot. We had some available at our spring plant sale this year, and boy were they popular! Check back next year if you want to get your hands on one of these lovely plants.
